I think that Marjane's parents sent her to Europe to protect her from the war. I think that this was the right decision. I believe this because they were trying to protect their daughter and keep her safe from the war so that should they be bombed she would survive. They also did this because they wanted to provide her with freedoms provided to her in Iran. They also did this  allow her to think for herself and not just the lies that the regime taught her.
